Merit Roll Announcements


The Pastor’s Honor and Merit Roll has been rescheduled and will be announced on Sunday October 8th at the 11 a.m. worship service. Please place student’s report cards for the entire 2016-17 school year in the Education Committee mail box no later than Sunday September 24th. We need grades for each reporting period. Late report cards will NOT be accepted.



Homecoming 2017 

Are you ready for another opportunity to have good food? Fun? And fellowship? Time is nearing for our annual weekend of Homecoming activities and we want all of you to come out and have a good time in the Lord. From 12:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. on Saturday September 23rd is our church picnic. We have lots of food and activities planned for all ages.

Sunday September 24th we will have one service at 9:30 a.m. as we celebrate the homecoming of former members, family and friends. Our guest preacher will be the Rev. Dr. Eugene Johnson, Pastor of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Centreville, VA. Sunday School will begin at 8:45 a.m.  Mark your calendars now and share this information with everyone you know.


Bible Study


Wednesday evening Study at 7:00 p.m. will resume on September 6th. Our Thursday mid-day study begins again at 12:00 noon on September 7th. Start your fall off right with bible study.

Casual Summer Dress Attire

Mt. Olive casual summer attire extended through Sept 24th (Homecoming). Everyone is welcome to dress comfortably for the extended period.

Important Membership Update:  We are currently in the process of updating our membership database and need your participation. Consistent with our Church's Vision Statement, we plan to use this information to foster effective and efficient communication among our membership. Church officials (including ministry leaders) will sometimes use this information to occasionally outreach to you and to notify you of selected church activities, cancellations of events, road/street closures, and other relevant information. We have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data security, and correctly use the information we collect on this profile.  We need for all of our members, including our young adults and youth to have a completed membership profile which is available online for your convenience.  To submit Online, go to Mount Olive's web homepage at www.mtolivebc.org, click on the Resources tab at the top of the page and select Membership Information Update. If you do not have access to the internet, please stop by the church office to get a form to complete. Thank you for your participation!


Parking Notice:  If you park on S. 13th Road in front of the church, please do not block the curb-cut in front of the access ramp that leads to the church entrance.  We have received a request from Metro Access to keep this area clear.  This will allow the drivers to properly assist our disabled congregants in departing from the van in safety. We appreciate your cooperative spirit in helping us to be a welcoming and accessible community.

Your Suggestions are Welcomed:  Do you have a suggestion or concern pertaining to the Mount Olive Baptist Church?  Come meet with the members of the Pastoral Relations Committee to discuss your ideas and issues.  The PRC will hold a meet and greet session on the 5th Sunday in November.
