During 2008, the Deacons Ministry’s major focus was assisting the Pastor in completing the training of Deacons and Associate Deacons for the Deacons Ministry of the church. We are happy to report that all trainees (Charles Reese, Stanley Lamb, Maurice Greene, Dewitt Fairley, Phillip Foreman, Bernard Jones, Wilbert Briggs, James Smith and, Rossar McCullough,) have successfully completed the class room instructions and practical application phases of the training. They are now ready to be ordained for work of the Deacon Ministry of Mount Olive Baptist Church. In addition, the Deacons and Associate Deacons attended other training in the area. These training opportunities were as follows: The General Baptist’s Deacon Association of Washington, DC and Vicinity and its Women Auxiliary and Youth Department sponsored a City- Wide Training Workshop for Diaconate, Women and Youth Ministries.
