- Participate in workshops and seminars with Deaconess in Unity
- Participate in the Diaconate Prayer Breakfast
- Participate in the Diaconate Thanksgiving Project
- Attend Baptist General Convention in Richmond, Virginia.
- Begin transition period into Diaconate.
- Begin Leadership Training Sessions.
- Continue to accompany Pastor on many of the preaching engagements.
- Continue to visit the sick and shut-in in the hospitals, hospices, and nursing homes, and private homes.
- Sponsor Officer’s Day.
- Continue to support all ministries of the church.
- Continue to care for baptismal gowns and towels. Take care of Communion Table linens.

During 2008, the Deaconess Ministry met our purpose and objectives by sponsoring and participating in many programs and activities for the uplifting of God’s Kingdom. In addition to supporting our pastor, Deacons, and all ministries of the church, we carried out our responsibilities of serving our brothers and sisters in the community when necessary. While implementing our role in promoting Christianity and spiritual development, we sponsored or participated in the following programs: Attended and participated in the workshops for Deaconess in Unity. Attended and participated in Lenten services Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday Services Participated in the Mother-Daughter Tea with the Girl Scouts Sponsored Officers Day with Diaconate and Trustees Attended and participated in The Deaconess in Unity Banquet Celebrated with our Pastor on his 6th Anniversary at Mount Olive Attended and participated in the 109th Annual Session of the Baptist General Convention, and Congress of Christian Education. The Convention was held in Norfolk, Virginia. Supported the Ministry of Worship and Arts in its presentation of four singers—Bob Fields, Carol Fields, Bessie Wilson, and Carl Leach Participated in Homecoming activities Saturday and Sunday Attended and Participated in Vacation Bible School. Assisted with Diaconate Thanksgiving Project. Sponsored with Missionary our third annual prayer breakfast, with Rev. Vanetta Rather of Mount Enon Baptist Church, Clinton, Md. Accompanied our Pastor on many of his preaching engagements. Provided assistance and comfort through our Comfort Ministry, for the hurting due to sickness, death, or grief of any kind. Participated in the “Angel Tree Project.” Attended the Children’s Christmas Program We welcomed two new ministers. Our Assistant Pastor—Minister Asa Lee, and Associate Minister Rev. Walter Smith III. Thank God for our Ministerial Staff. Assisted our Assistant Pastor with our Memorial Service. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not to thine own understanding.
